Nestled in the heart of Santiago Island, Serra Malagueta Natural Park spans over 1,500 hectares of volcanic terrain, lush valleys, and dramatic mountain ridges. This protected area is home to more than 124 plant species (28 endemic) and 19 bird species, including endangered ones like the Cape Verde warbler and Bourne’s heron. Visitors may spot wild monkeys swinging through the treetops and enjoy sweeping views that stretch all the way to Fogo Island, where the majestic Fogo Volcano rises dramatically from the Atlantic horizon.
