Cidade Velha (Old City in english), is the most important historic site in the archipelago and is of international importance. The city became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.
In addition to being a fishing village, Pedra Badejo is a very green village with the largest production of bananas, coconut trees, sugarcane, mango trees and other fruits that farmers grow.
