Island Tour + Cidade Velha

The tour starts with a short drive to Cidade Velha, Cape Verde's first capital.

We tour the village, visiting the São Filipe fortress, the Cathedral, Pelourinho, Rua Banana and the Church of Senhora do Rosário.

Moving on to São Domingos, we continue to the Botanical Garden of São Jorge dos Órgãos. From there we can see the highest point of the island, Pico d’Antónia (1394 meters of altitude).

Then we arrive at the village of Picos and Assomada, the second largest city in Santiago, where we find a lively street fair on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Then we will stop at the Natural Park to enjoy the landscape and nature.

The next stop will be the former political prison, today it is the Tarrafal Resistance Museum.

Lunch in Tarrafal at a local beachfront restaurant.

We return to the beach along the coast passing through Porto Formoso, Rabelados, Calheta de São Miguel, Areia preta, Pedra Badejo and finally hotel.
